U.S. Department of Labor's OSHA Teams Up with State of Illinois and Sauk Valley Community College for OSHA Safety Day

AURORA, Ill. -- Job safety training is the focus of an OSHA Safety Day training conference to be held March 14 at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Ill.

The forum is co-sponsored by the North Aurora area office of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Sauk Valley Community College and the Onsite Consultation Program of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

"This conference is a great opportunity to help businesses prevent job injuries and protect their employees," said Michael G. Connors, OSHA regional administrator in Chicago.

More than 300 employees and managers, from a broad range of industries in Illinois, are expected to attend the event, representing manufacturers, hospitals, print shops, trucking businesses and construction firms. The one-day conference will cover safety issues for transportation, machine safeguarding, safety programs, electrical and wellness programs.

The program will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sauk Valley Community College on Route 2 in Dixon.

The fee for the conference is $40 per person, which includes handouts, exhibits, refreshments and lunch. Advance registration is required.
