MOBILE, Ala. -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will provide free safety and health training to employers during the March 29 "Building Alabama" Central Alabama Construction Safety Conference at Auburn University Montgomery.
'Building Alabama' conference scheduled for March 29 at Auburn University Montgomery
"This free training is a great opportunity for employers to learn about safety and health concerns facing construction workers," said Ken Atha, OSHA's area director in Mobile. "Many communities are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, while others are experiencing a general boom in construction. This conference will help ensure that employees operate in a safe and healthy environment."
Conference participants are required to pre-register.
News media are encouraged to cover the conference.
Conference exhibitors will offer products and services that support construction workplace safety and health programs.
Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA¿s role is to assure the safety and health of America¿s working men and women by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual process improvement in workplace safety and health.
