Domenick M. Salvatore takes charge of U.S. Labor Department's OSHA office in Wilmington
New area director to oversee safety and health throughout Delawar

WILMINGTON, Del. -- Domenick M. Salvatore has been named director of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Wilmington Area Office. In this role, Salvatore oversees OSHA program activities throughout the state of Delaware.

"Domenick brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will benefit workers throughout Delaware," said Marie Cassady, acting OSHA regional administrator in Philadelphia, in making the announcement.

Salvatore began his career with OSHA in the Norfolk, Va., district office in 1975. During his 32 years of service prior to this newest appointment, Salvatore held various positions, including compliance safety and health officer, compliance assistance specialist and assistant area director.

Under the Occupation Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA's role is to assure the safety and health of America's working men and women by setting and enforcing the standards; providing training, outreach and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual process improvement in workplace safety and health.
