    Overview:


    To provide High school seniors who are in or going into the work force in general industry with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect them in health and safety at the work place, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to occupational safety and health hazards such as machine guarding, heat stress, electrical, falls, struck-by, and caught-between hazards. This alliance provides information in educating the students while still in school that they have a right to work in safe and healthful work place and their right to complain and/or report a safety/health hazard at the job site without retaliation from the employer.

    Implementation Team Meetings

    This alliance meets twice a year to provide training to the students.

  2. Events and Products

    10 Hour OSHA general industry course, as of today, 80 students have been trained.

    • Falls and Heat Stress Regional Campaign

    • NEP on machine guarding
  4. Results

    Students understand OSHA regulations and workplace hazard recognition and avoidance. They are well-versed on their right to work in safe and healthful workplace and their right to report a hazard in their workplace without retaliation from the employer.

  5. Upcoming Milestones:

    • 10 hour general industry courses to 40 students on 5/30-31/2013.
