    3. Overview

      The Alliance between the OSHA Dallas Area Office and the Hispanic Contractors Association de Tejas (HCAT) was established to facilitate fostering cooperative relationships for such purposes as, training and education, outreach and communication, and promoting a statewide dialogue on workplace safety and health for construction contractors and their workers;

      The Participants intentions were to establish a collaborative relationship to provide workers information, guidance, and access to education and training resources to promote workers' rights in protecting their occupational safety and health, and to help them understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act).

    Training and Education

    • Safety Training or education activities were requested nor conducted during the evaluation period. OSHA CAS was a speaker at the Apr 28th, 2016 Worker Commemoration Ceremony, where the grand opening of the Construction Compliance Training Center was the key presentation accessible at: http://hcadetejas.org/index.php

    Outreach and Communication

    • Outreach or communication activities were requested or conducted during the evaluation period.

    Promoting the National Dialogue on Safety and Health

    • The OSHA Dallas and Fort Worth Area Offices, and HCAT held meetings to reestablish the goals of the Alliance.

  5. Upcoming Milestones

      The Dallas Area OSHA Office is closing out the Alliance due to plans to commence a new Alliance that will include the Fort Worth OSHA Area Office. The Dallas Area OSHA Office remains ready to support HCAT, in the upcoming 10-Construction Safety Course marathon and Worker's Memorial Day ceremonies on Apr 28th and 29th, 2017. And prepared to reestablish a new Alliance as well.
