  1. Alliance Background

    Alliance Overview:

    The Participants have established a collaborative relationship to provide Twin Tiers STEPS Network membership with outreach programs. The Alliance participants will provide training, information, guidance and access to OSHA resources and help reduce workplace injuries and illnesses in the oil & gas industry of Pennsylvania.

  2. Implementation Team Meetings/Activities

    June 15, 2017 – Mark Harmon, CAS, met with Christen Dupre Davis, Secretary/Treasurer after the scheduled June meeting to discuss future agenda items. We prepared a list of items to complete before the end of the year.

    January 24, 2018, – Mark Harmon, CAS, participated with a telephone conference call will the Twin Tiers STEPS Executive Board. Several agenda items were covered including the recent departure of most of the executive board due to a decline in oil & gas industry, immediate plans to restructure the two STEPS Networks in PA, and the big picture of plans to go forward.

    January 31, 2018 – Mark Harmon, CAS, participated with a telephone conference call will National STEPS Network and 22 affiliate STEPS Networks. The National STEPS representatives forecasted the year ahead and praised everyone for their continued commitment to safety & health.

    • Outreach and Communication
      • Over the last year, the Erie OSHA office conducted four presentations on various safety & health related topics to the Twin Tiers STEPS Network membership.

        June: National Fall Prevention Safety Stand Down

        December: Annual OSHA Update

        February: 29 CFR 1904. Recordkeeping

    • Raising Awareness of OSHA's Rulemaking and Enforcement Initiatives
      • Twin Tiers STEPS Network continues to promote our annual safety and health campaigns. This support is noted on their webpages and other social media. We regularly provide an OSHA table at each meeting with pamphlets and other resources to highlight this important information.

  4. Results

    A. The table below lists each of the outreach activities and the number of individuals reached during the reporting period. NOTE: the table below does not include the various meetings held over the last year and the numerous participants that benefitted from the varied safety and health discussions at each of these meetings.

  5. Upcoming Milestones

    The Alliance participants are pleased with the first year's accomplishments. We believe this Alliance is important for OSHA and the oil & gas industry as it promotes workplace safety. The National STEPS Network has remarked that for each local STEPS Network created many injuries and illnesses are prevented. The implementation team will encourage PA OSHA On-site Consultation Service to participate on the team.
