    Alliance Activity Products

ASSE, WCTC and OSHA presented “Safety Day 2010” on June 10, 2010 which was attended by over 300 participants. This evaluation also covers information from Safety Day 2011 which was attended by 220 participants. Both events offered over 24 classes which included sessions covering OSHA compliance issues, Safety Committee Best Practices, and current topics such as Combustible Dust, and other safety issues. A number of the sessions were interactive and encouraged audience participation.

An 8 hour First-Aid training session was also offered as part of the 2011 event. An OSHA 10 Hour class for General Industry was offered by the state Consultation Program at both events.

Presenters representing each of the signators had the opportunity to attend a number of seminar sessions to further their own professional development.

Included with the Safety Day events was a vendor area which enabled local vendors to interact with attendees.

Compliance Assistance personnel and the Milwaukee Area Director have presented information to ASSE members at Chapter meetings during the past year and the office has also provided information for the local ASSE Chapter website on OSHA activity, standards, and initiatives.

A Compliance Assistance Specialist and Industrial Hygienist from the Milwaukee Area Office worked with instructors from WCTC to present the OSHA Construction 10 Hour class to 32 students in the Building Trades Apprenticeship Program.

Utilizing these activities, each of the Alliance goals including Training and Education, Outreach and Communication, and Promoting the National Dialogue on Safety and Health was successfully achieved.
