      Through the alliance, OSHA and ISRI provide ISRI's members and others with information, training, and other resources to protect the health and safety of workers within the scrap recycling industry and promote understanding of the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

  4. Upcoming Milestones

    In the coming year, OSHA and ISRI will continue to work together to promote a culture of safety within the scrap recycling industry that works towards the reduction of workplace incidents and control of workplace hazards. For example, OSHA and ISRI will continue to collaborate in conducting outreach related to relevant OSHA standards/rulemakings, enforcement, available tools and resources (including OSHA's free on-site consultation services), and outreach campaigns (including the Fall Prevention Campaign, the Heat Illness Prevention Campaigns and the Safe + Sound Campaign for Safety and Health Programs). OSHA and ISRI will also explore opportunities for collaborating in the development of training and other educational resources as appropriate.
