  • September 18-22, 2005: National Safety Council's Congress and Expo, Orlando, Florida.
    • September 22, 2005, Paula White, Director, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL- OSHA, Gary Jones, Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety Affairs, Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), and a representative from the OSHA and The Dow Chemical Company Alliance participated on a panel entitled, "Successes of OSHA's Ergonomic Alliances."
  • May 11, 2005: Northern Kentucky PIA Chapter Meeting, Columbus, Ohio. Gary Jones, Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety Affairs, Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), gave an OSHA and EPA update. Rick Hartwig, Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, PIA/GATF, and Jim Washam, Machine Guarding Coordinator, Region V, Cincinnati, Ohio Area Office, USDOL-OSHA, gave a presentation on safe equipment operation and machine guarding.
  • March 20-21, 2005: INFO*FLEX 2005, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Orlando, Florida.
  • March 6-8, 2005: National Environmental, Health and Safety Conference, Tampa, Florida.
    • March 8, 2005: Paula White, Director, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, presented "OSHA On the Radar Screen and Working For You." Joan Spencer, Compliance Assistance Specialist, Tampa Florida Area Office, USDOL-OSHA, staffed an OSHA/GAC Alliance exhibit booth.
  • October 6-9, 2004: SGIA '04, The Specialty Printing and Imaging Technology Show, Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
    • The U.S. Department of Labor had an exhibit booth and distributed information on the GAC Alliance.
  • May 14, 2004: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Ergonomics Roundtable, Washington, D.C. At a meeting hosted by AAOS, Danielle Waterfield, Government Affairs Associate, Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, gave a presentation [PPT* - 1.3 MB] to Alliance Program participants, including AAOS, The Dow Chemical Company and the American Society of Safety Engineers, on a new ergonomics training materials for the printing industries. Representatives from Dow and AAOS also gave presentations to the group.
  • May 11, 2004: National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics working group on Outreach and Assistance, Washington, D.C. Marci Kinter, Vice President, Government Affairs, and Danielle Waterfield, Government Affairs Associate, Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, gave a presentation to the working group on the Alliance and a new ergonomics training materials for the printing industries.

  • October 15-18, 2003: SGIA '03, The Printing and Imaging Technology Show, Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia.
  • May 4-7, 2003: Flexographic Technical Association Forum 2003 and Info*Flex, Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. The OSHA tabletop exhibit was provided and staffed by OSHA's Region VIII.
  • March 23-25, 2003: National Environmental, Health, and Safety Conference, Louisville, Kentucky.
  • January 24, 2003: The Printing Alliance and Cooperative Programs [PPT* - 170 KB], Paula White, Director, Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, addressed the SGIA Safety and Health Committee, describing OSHA's recognition programs, VPP, Strategic Partnerships, and SHARP, and exploring ways for the Printing Industry Alliance to encourage participation in them.
  • January 8, 2003: 2003 OSHA Update, Gary Jones, Manager Environmental, Health, and Safety Affairs for Graphic Arts Technical Foundation/Printing Industries of America, gave a presentation at the Newspaper Association of America's Annual Technical Committee Meeting. The presentation focused on current and future EPA and OSHA activities affecting newspapers. Among the topics covered was a review of the OSHA-Printing Industry Alliance on ergonomics. The other OSHA-related topics covered included OSHA's reorganization, common OSHA violations, injury and illness recordkeeping, changes to existing rules, and newly proposed rules.
  • October 19, 2002: OSHA's Four-Pronged Approach to Ergonomics, Christopher Lee, Deputy Regional Administrator, OSHA Region IX, addressed the Education and Training Committee of the Envelope Manufacturers Association, which is one of four printing associations in the Printing Alliance; about the Alliance and OSHA's new approach to ergonomics.
  • September 25, 2002: Working Cooperatively with OSHA: Industry Perspective [PPT* - 231 KB], Jim Kyger, Director, Federal Employment Compliance Assistance, Printing Industries of America, Inc, addressed the OSHA Compliance Assistance Conference about his association's experience in collaborating with OSHA in an Alliance with three other printing associations.
  • September 4, 2002: OSHA's Impact [PPT* - 255 KB], Paula White, Director, Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA. Ms. White described OSHA's cooperative programs, especially as they relate to the printing industry.
