    3. Overview

      The Alliance with the Workers Defense Project (WDP) of Dallas, and the Dallas Area OSHA Office is directed towards reducing injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the construction and general industries. The WDP –Dallas, offers staff and patrons with information regarding resources available for employers and workers regarding worker safety and health.

  2. Implementation Team Meetings

    Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) Elias Vela conducted a Power-point presentation at WDP -Dallas meeting on July 25, 2017, where an audience of approximately 20 were attentive and participated in question and answer sessions.

    CAS Elias Vela returned to observe and report SB Harwood Grant training conducted by WDP Dallas Director Jason Cato on Sep 19, 2017 and Mar 27, 2018. During these visits, OSHA outreach literature was distributed to the attendees.

  3. Results

    The following table summarizes the Alliance's activities in support of the goals in the Alliance agreement.

    Participation in the alliance has helped maintain and improve the knowledge and sharing of best practices. In addition to the meetings covering National Safety Stand-Down for Preventing Falls in Construction, heat stress, distracted driving, and other topics, information on workplace safety hazards and trends, and best practices, was provided. During these meetings, OSHA outreach literature was distributed to the attendees.

    Outreach and Communication: Develop information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards, and ways of communication such information working in the Dallas, Texas area. To speak, exhibit, or appear at the Participants' conferences, local meetings, or other events.

    Previous evaluation was conducted on or about June 30, 2017.

  5. Upcoming Milestones

    The 2-year Alliance agreement was last signed on Aug 5, 2016 and has expired, and due for renewal. The Dallas Area OSHA Office has reached out to WDP to offer support and collaboration for OSHA outreach. The Dallas Area OSHA Office has reached out to WDP to conduct a meeting or conference-call to discuss a renewal of the Alliance agreement.
