Overview
Through the Alliance the Construction Safety Leadership Alliance (CSLA), University of Texas OSHA Education Center (UTA) and OSHA Dallas/Fort Worth Area Offices are working together to provide construction workers with information, guidance, and access to training resources to protect employees' health and safety. The Alliance continues to focus its efforts on the reduction, prevention and exposure to 'Construction's Focus Four' hazards, as well as assist member companies with the establishment of a strong foundation based in safety leadership.
OSHA Region VI, CSLA and UTA continue to successfully partner together to achieve consistent improvements in the safety and health of workers in the construction industry.

Implementation Team Meetings
The executive committee members and officers meet in person, and via conference call to plan for upcoming events. The executive committee members assist the officers with scheduling vendors and speakers, as well as monthly meeting facilitation. OSHA Region VI personnel meet with executive committee members to discuss and plan upcoming events.

Event Tower Crane Awareness Training
On August 3, 2017, Austin Commercial, LP sponsored 4-hour Tower Crane Awareness training event which was held at the new American Airlines headquarters jobsite in Fort Worth, Texas. This was the first such event that has been held by the Austin Commercial. There were over 33 participants, which included over 25 OSHA Compliance Safety and Health Officers, Assistant Area Directors, Area Directors as well as members from the Dallas Regional Solicitor's Office.Crane 33
Event Trench Symposium
On June 27, 2017, co-sponsored a free Trenching Safety Symposium. The goal was to reach out to the many of the workers who work in and around trenches and excavations and provide them with information about current excavation requirements and safety procedures for working in trenches and/or excavations. By reaching as many workers as possible we can reduce the number of fatalities, catastrophes and serious injuries that occur each year in the industry.Trenching 1,000

Evaluations
This Alliance continues to provide a means for OSHA Region VI and CSLA to positively impact safety throughout the construction industry. The Alliance has been instrumental in assisting member companies with the establishment of a strong foundation that is based in safety leadership. Through the collaboration of UTA, CSLA and OSHA, and dissemination of information through the website, construction companies have been afforded a vast amount of helpful information. The CSLA website is a depository for past meeting minutes, upcoming events, safety and health training, as well as access to tools that will assist members' improvement of safety leadership.
Alliance activities during this period effectively communicated the need for safety leadership, safety and health training and safety and health management program improvement in the workplace to countless numbers of employers, safety professionals, and college students.

Upcoming Milestones
Over the course of the upcoming year, the Alliance the participants will continue to implement the agreement through activities such as the fall stand down, Safe + Sound, monthly meetings, and other activities as needed.
