Description: OSHA's Birmingham Area Office through a Strategic Partnership with Brasfield & Gorrie will be hosting a stand-down in conjunction with OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. During this stand down, all contractors and sub-contractors will hold a conversation with employer and employees about hazards, protective methods, and the company's safety policies and goals in relation to falls in the construction industry.

Description: The Associated General Contractors (AGC), Birmingham Section will be hosting the Alabama AGC Field Day Expo 2017. The compliance assistance specialist from OSHA's Birmingham Area Office has been invited to set up a booth to answer general safety and health related questions. During the Expo, there will be a halt to the activities and the CAS will hold a discussion in relation to OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction.

Web Devices-USA will be conducting a "drop" demonstration; OSHA will be providing information on the hazards relating to falls, planning and discussion as well as informational literature.

Description: OSHA 7405 - Fall Hazard Awareness for the Construction Industry - University of South Florida Safety Florida Consultation Program in partnership with the USF OSHA Training Institute Education Center - This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention, and control of fall hazards in the construction industry. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls to the same level resulting from slips and falls. This site will conduct a stand-down for over 250 workers. Odebrecht will conduct a tool box followed by a vendor fall protection demonstration. Remarks will be given by OSHA representative.

Description: Our primary mission is to assess floors and make them safer from slip and fall accidents or injuries when they get wet. We will have a Demo Display set-up that people will be able to step on the tiles that are treated and non-treated for comparison. We will be talking about how the Wet Floor Coefficient plays part in the Standard Slip and Falls.

Description: Nucor Steel Berkeley will be hosting a National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls. Joining the event will be South Carolina OSHA, DBI/Capital Safety (3M) and Eck Supply. Starting at 10:30 AM there will be a training session on Fall Protection and Ladder Use. This will be followed by safety product demonstrations and fall protection equipment inspections.
