Description: Electric Boat's Groton, CT location occupies 118 acres along the Thames River and supports engineering and design work as well as new construction and maintenance activities. More than 400,000 square feet of space in Groton are dedicated to submarine and surface ship design, and the development and demonstration of undersea systems. Wallingford

Location: The Construction Pro Rodeo Safety Seminars and Education and Safety BBQ. New Life Church (formerly Mountainside Resort), 350 High Street Wallingford, CT

Description: The OSHA Hartford and Providence Area Offices will have a booth at the event and will be displaying a life size manikin dressed up in fall protection. OSHA will instruct high school students on the components of a personal fall arrest system and the importance of using fall prevention before Personal Protective Equipment. There will be approximately 1200 High School student attending the event. They will be able to see the different trades offered to them as employment after graduation. OSHA booth will be a required stop for students (signed off by Compliance Assistance Specialist) if they want to receive a prize before leaving the event. All students will go through a safety orientation where they receive a hard hat, safety glassed, and hearing protection before entering the site. Many local Unions will also attend this event. This event is in conjunction with the OSHA Associated Building Contractors (ABC) Alliance. On the last day of the event there will be Safety Seminars 12-4:00 p.m. - Fall Protection Awareness, Scaffold Awareness Safety Class, Aerial lift/Scissor lift certification.

The session will raise Fall Protection Awareness and focus an emphasis on Youth Safety Training in Construction.
