Machine Operators
Because they are normally enclosed in the cab of their machine, operators are at less risk than manual
loggers. However, the basic requirements for training and personal protective equipment and other hand tools are still applicable.

Although there are no specific OSHA requirements, ergonomic stress to body joints is a
hazard for machine operators. Shoulder, arm, and wrist injuries, such as carpel tunnel
syndrome, are a major cause of lost-work-day injuries for these workers.
