Unfunded Mandates: Undetermined Legal Authority: 29 USC 655; 29 USC 657; 29 USC 651 CFR Citation: 29 CFR 1910.1000; 29 CFR 1910.1031 Legal Deadline: None Abstract: OSHA published an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) on April 2, 1987 (52 FR 10586). OSHA used the information received in response to the ANPRM, as well as other information and analysis, and published a proposal on March 23, 1993 (58 FR 15526), that would reduce the permissible exposure limits for four glycol ethers and provide protection for approximately 46,000 workers exposed to these substances. OSHA is working toward promulgation of a final rule in 2001.
