XIII. Environmental Impact Analysis
The National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et. seq.,
requires OSHA to determine whether this regulatory action would have a
significant impact on the environment. These amendments would not increase
the amount of formaldehyde found in the general environment and may decrease
it as some establishments switch to low-emitting resins. Therefore, the
Agency believes that these provisions would not have a significant impact on
the environment. No comments made at the public hearing or submitted to the
record contradict this conclusion.
