OSHA and V&R Drywall Inc. in El Paso Form Partnership to
Promote Workplace Safety

EL PASO, Texas -- In an effort to reduce employee injuries, illnesses and deaths in the construction industry, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has formed a partnership with V&R Drywall Inc. in El Paso, Texas.

V&R Drywall, a predominantly Hispanic construction company that employs about 83 workers, will sign the agreement at 2:30 p.m., Dec. 13, at the company's main office on 1110 N. Piedras

"The Labor Department is committed to protecting the well being of the many Hispanic workers in America's workforce," said OSHA Regional Administrator John Miles. "It is important to assure a safe and healthful workplace for all employees."

The objective of the agreement is to prevent serious accidents within the construction industry through increased training and enhanced safety and health programs. The agreement will remain in effect for three years.
