The Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) will meet in Washington Sept. 2-3, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced today.

The 15-member ACCSH was established under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the secretaries of labor and health and humans services on occupational safety and health programs, and policies that affect the construction industry. Agenda items for the two-day meeting will include:

• Remarks by OSHA Administrator Charles N. Jeffress
• Work Group Updates
• Reports on construction standards development
• Special presentations including, silica, ACCSH web page, strategic plan update, and health standards technical updates.

The full committee will meet in the Frances Perkins Building, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Room C5521 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 2, and 9 a.m. until noon on Sept. 3. ACCSH work groups will convene prior to the full committee session. Those groups are scheduled as follows:

August 31	Musculoskeletal Disorders	Room C5521 (9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
August 31	Construction Certification and Paperwork Reduction Review	Room C5515 #2 (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
August 31	OSHA Form 170	Room C5515 #2 (1-5 p.m.)
Sept. 1	Data Collection/Targeting	Room C5521 (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Sept. 1	Subpart N - Cranes	Room C5515 #2 (1-5 p.m.)

Written data, views or comments may be submitted to U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA, Room N-3647, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210. Twenty copies are requested. Submissions received prior to the meeting will be included in the record.

Persons wishing to make an oral presentation should notify OSHA at the above address. The request must state the amount of time desired, the interest the person represents, and provide a brief outline of the presentation. Such requests will be granted, as time permits, at the discretion of the committee chair.
