OSHA Asbestos Advisor Now Does Windows

OSHA's popular interactive computer program to help building owners comply with its asbestos standard now does Windows.

Asbestos Advisor, Release 2.0, is now available for downloading to personal computers in both DOS and Windows versions on OSHA's Internet Site (http://www.osha.gov/) under "OSHA Software/Advisors". Release 2.0 also incorporates recent changes in the standard arising from litigation.

The Windows version of Asbestos Advisor permits users to click on highlighted keywords to access additional information. It also lists the questions the Advisor asks users to identify their obligations under the asbestos standard along with a user's responses. This feature gives users a record of their interaction with the program.

Future OSHA software advisors will focus on such topics as "safety pays", fire fighting and emergency evacuation, lockout/tagout and lead in construction.
