Region 4 News Release: 12 2403-ATL (400) US Labor Department's OSHA, McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. and ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has formed a partnership with McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. and Georgia Tech Research Institute's On-site Consultation Services Program to ensure the highest level of employee safety and health during the construction of the Georgia Institute of Technology Engineered Biosystems Building. The project will be about 200,000 square feet of research laboratory space, featuring integrated research efforts and an auditorium for the College of Science and Engineering. The parties will sign the partnership agreement on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the construction site.
Through the Strategic Partnership Program, OSHA partners with employers, workers, professional and trade associations, labor organizations and other interested stakeholders to establish specific goals, strategies and performance measures to improve worker safety and health.
