OSHA ANNOUNCES FEDERAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

WASHINGTON -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is holding an open meeting of the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) in Washington, D.C. on September 24, 2002.

The council will meet from 1:30 p.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m. in Room N3437 A/B/C/D of the Department of Labor Frances Perkins Building, 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20210.

The 16-person council advises OSHA on issues concerning the safety and health of federal employees. The council, composed of eight union officials representing federal employees and eight management representatives from various federal agencies, also helps establish and maintain effective safety initiatives and policies in every federal agency.

Agenda items include:
  • Annual Federal Safety and Health Council Awards ceremony and training meeting preparations.

  • Federal Executive Institute training proposal.

  • Recordkeeping guidelines.

  • Federal Worker 2000 results.

  • New business.

Written comments may be submitted by September 17 to the Office of Federal Agency Programs, Room N-3112, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210. Twenty copies are needed. Those submissions received prior to the meeting will be included in the record of the meeting. Individuals with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting should contact OSHA at the above address, if special accommodations are needed.

Notice of this meeting is scheduled to appear in the September 4, 2002 Federal Register.
