Ms. Judy Streger Brady Dear Ms. Streger: Thank you for your inquiry of June 28, requesting comments and suggestions on your complete set of training material for first aid and CPR training. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) does not comment on a first aid or CPR training program until an OSHA inspection is made. It is the responsibility of the employer to make an assessment of the workplace and determine all first aid needs for expected injuries and illnesses. Each employer using any first aid and/or CPR courses must satisfy him/herself that the course adequately covers the types of injuries/illnesses likely to be encountered in the workplace. We have enclosed a copy of OSHA instruction CPL 2-2.53, Guidelines for First Aid Training Programs; it will help explain the approval used by our Compliance Officers. We appreciate your interest in employee safety and health. If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely,
Raymond E. Donnelly, Director |
