Dear Mr. Hill:

This is in response to your July 20 letter requesting information on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations that might require warning stickers on stump grinders. Please be advised that OSHA does not have any regulations that require warning stickers to be placed on stump grinders advising that the grinders must not be operated by a person weighing less than 200 pounds.

You may wish to contact the American National Standards Institute, Inc., 1430 Broadway, New York, New York 10018 to see if that organization has any voluntary consensus standards that address your concerns.

Sincerely,

Roger A. Clark Director
Directorate of Compliance Programs
