August 26, 1991 Ms. Sara Alejandra Alejo Post Office Box 638 Nocatee, Florida 33864 Dear Ms. Alejo: The White House Office referred your letter of May 1, to the Department of Labor. Subsequently, your letter was assigned to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In your letter you express concern for seasonal employees who are exposed in the fields to pesticides which are harmful to their health. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has the authority and responsibility for promulgating and enforcing federal regulations related to your concern. Presently, the controlled use and disposal of pesticides is the subject of proposed rulemaking by the EPA. In consideration of the proposed rulemaking, your letter has been referred to the EPA, and a copy of the referral letter is enclosed. We appreciate your interest in employee safety and health.
