Jim Loy, Director, Lumber Division, Southern Pine Inspection Bureau provided the following information on the designation of scaffold plank under the SPIB rules: Dense Industrial 72 Scaffold Plank and Dense Industrial 65 Scaffold Plank refers to wood in which 72% and 65% respectively is equal in its load carrying capability to clear straight grained Southern Pine. 2.
