MEMORANDUM FOR REGIONAL ADMINISTRATORS
FROM: LEO CAREY, DIRECTOR
Office of Field Programs
SUBJECT: Correspondence Sent to the National Office
Over the past several months we have monitored the correspondence coming
through the Office of Field Programs from the field and have determined that
much of it would be more efficiently processed if it were sent directly to
the addressee (in most cases, other directorates). It is our intention to
identify the kinds of mail that fall into this category. All other
correspondence should continue to be sent through us. We realize that such
an undertaking will be awkward for both parties at first; however, we believe
that in the long run, all will benefit from a more expeditious processing of
incoming correspondence.
Attachment A to this memorandum is a list of the correspondence that you no
longer need to send through the Office of Field Programs. Please do not send
us a courtesy copy of this correspondence either. We will periodically
update Attachment A, as our mail awareness increases, and forward these
updates to you. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
