| MEMORANDUM FOR: |
Regional Administrators
|
| THRU: |
John B. Miles Jr., Director Directorate of Field Operations
|
| FROM: |
John E. Plummer, Director Office of Federal Agency Programs
|
| SUBJECT: |
Department of Labor Regional Safety and Health Committees |
I have been asked by the field as to whether OSHA personnel should serve on
the Department's Regional Safety and Health Committees. The position of this
Office is that any OSHA personnel who would be involved in an evaluation of
the Committee should not serve on the Committee.
This would preclude the ARA/TECFAP and FAPO from serving on such Committees:
but would not preclude using the expertise of OSHA ADs or CSHOs. This is
based on past practice in evaluations, where the National Office or regional
people would review regional level operations.
