Calhoon Route 1 Stratton, Colorado 80836 Dear Mr. Calhoon: This is in response to your letter of December 26, 1977, relating to the grain elevator explosion in New Orleans. Please accept our apology for the delay in response. Your concern that air pollution control equipment is causing explosions by trapping grain dust that previously drifted away freely from the facility is understandable. You may be assured that this agency is exploring all potential causes including the possibility of pollution control malfunctions inducing the grain elevators to explode. If you have any further recommendations or suggestions we would be most interested in reviewing them. Thank you for your interest in this matter.
