Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards due to unsafe electrical practices and procedures when euthanizing boars in the genetic boar stud facilities. (a)Seaboard Farms, Inc. & 53022 CR 12, Holyoke, CO 80734: Employees at genetic boar stud Farms #26 and #27 were exposed to electrical hazards through the use of unsafe work practices and procedures during the electrical euthanizing of boars. Employees were exposed to electrical shock, burns, and electrocution hazards due to conductive materials such as metal and wet concrete around the euthanizing pens, uninsulated alligator clips attached to the boar, and an extension cord set attached to the clips which was then manually plugged into a 120-volt receptacle.
