Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards from the possibility of the load shifting or the operator loosing control from the king pin or other major part failing due to tractor-trailer overloading: a) Sheet and Tin Division 1) Roadways - Mack Truck and Semi-trailer with Yeager Trucking stenciled on the side, observed 6/29/89. Among other method, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to load less than the manufactures gross weight on the unit.
