TEXT VERSION OF SLIDE:
Title: Catalytic Sensors
Type: Text Slide
Content:
- Disadvantages
- Different responses for each combustible gas.
- Can be "poisoned" by some gases and vapors such as, halogenated hydrocarbons, silicon vapor, etc..
- Slight poisoning may affect measurement of some gases more than others.
- Must have at least 10% oxygen to work properly.
- Not sensitive enough to detect gas at toxic limits.
Notes:
- Disadvantages

- Can be "poisoned" by some gases and vapors such as, halogenated hydrocarbons, silicon vapor, etc..
- Slight poisoning may affect measurement of some gases more than others.
- Must have at least 10% oxygen to work properly.
- Some combustible gases are also toxic in much lower concentrations. However, combustible sensors are not sensitive enough to detect the combustible gas at toxic limits.
