    Speaker Notes: A medical examination should be made and should include a medical history and physical examination, chest X-ray, and pulmonary function tests for each employee exposed to silica in excess of the Permissible Exposure Limit. The frequency of this surveillance should be upon hire and subsequently a function of the years of exposure.
