    TEXT VERSION OF TITLE SLIDE:

Title: Potential National Maritime Industry Alliance Projects
    Content:
    • OSHA Personnel Training

    • Best Practices

    • VPP Seminar

    Speaker Notes:

These topics can be addressed at upcoming Implementation Team meetings. Each organization can work on different parts of same project.

    • OSHA Personnel training revolves around the OTI training class on shipyards. Currently, the Maritime Steering Committee is revising the curriculum and is expected to complete the process by the end of FY04. After the update is complete, they would like for each Implementation Team to review the material and offer any comments/recommendations. The recommendations could include the sharing of best practices. In addition, members of the Alliances could be included as course instructors.
    - Recently, members of the Outreach sub-group discussed holding training seminars through Regional/Area Alliances that were previously mentioned with other Alliances within the Regions on joint topics at these seminars. The group suggested that this forum would be a good location to conduct VPP seminars similar to the June 2003 Airline Alliance VPP Seminar. At these events, it was identified that these types of training seminars would be a good opportunity to reach out to small businesses.
