Goals and Objectives of Alliance:
All Alliances must include an outreach and communication goal. Other goal
areas should be included and explained when included in the activities of the
alliance. Please list below the goals and objectives of this alliance.
- Outreach and Communication:
Describe the types of outreach and communication that will be a part of this
alliance. Include, in general terms, how these will be accomplished.
The Chapters communicate with their members on a regular basis, typically
monthly, through email blasts and regularly maintained websites (www.greaterdetroitasse.org,
www.wmasse.org and www.asselansing.org). A quarterly newsletter is also
published and distributed in hard copy, as well as being posted on the
websites. Our websites will include a link to the MIOSHA website highlighting
MIOSHA news, changes in regulations, and promoting MIOSHA programs and
seminars. ASSE-Michigan will publish on-line articles about specific MIOSHA
programs/initiatives, such as “Take a Stand Day,” a minimum of four times per
year.
- Training and Education:
Include a description of training and education activities, when applicable.
Do not respond if training and education is not part of the alliance.
The Chapters conduct technical meetings on a monthly basis. Our program
committee chairs will work closely with CET to bring MIOSHA programs to our
technical meetings at least quarterly.
ASSE Chapters will jointly support the student scholarship program to encourage
and promote occupational safety and health.
- Promoting Dialogue:
Include a description of how this alliance will promote dialogue in Michigan
related to workplace safety and health issues. Do not respond if promoting
dialogue is not part of the alliance.
The Chapters, through their boards of directors and committee chairs, will
promote cooperation and dialogue between the Chapters and MIOSHA. A MIOSHA
representative will be welcome and encouraged to attend all technical and board
of director meetings regardless of the topic.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Include a general description of the role of all parties signing the
alliance.
