The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Pueblo ommunity College (PCC) recognize the value of
establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces. OSHA and Pueblo Community
College hereby form an Alliance to use their collective expertise to help foster a culture of prevention while sharing best
practices and technical knowledge.
OSHA and PCC agree to establish an Alliance to promote safe and healthful working conditions for all workers, including
Spanish-speaking workers, in the southeastern and southwestern regions of Colorado, by:
- Providing to both the general industry and construction industry that employs workers, the information and guidance that
will help them protect employees’ and assist them in reducing and preventing exposure to hazards associated with the general
and construction industries.
- Increasing access to safety and health information and training resources.
OSHA and Pueblo Community College will work together to achieve the following training and education goals:
- Develop training and education programs for both the general industry and the construction industry to target the
appropriate workforce including Hispanic speaking workers.
- Jointly deliver or arrange for the delivery of OSHA-specific courses (eg, machine guarding, etc.).
OSHA and Pueblo Community College will work together to achieve the following outreach and communication goals:
- Seek opportunities to jointly develop and disseminate information through print and electronic media.
- OSHA will provide PCC with Compliance Assistance CDs, electronic newsletters and publications that they may disseminate.
- OSHA and PCC will promote joint trainings through existing communication networks (ie, e-mailing lists, etc.)
An implementation team made up of representatives of both organizations will meet to develop a plan of action, determine
working procedures and identify roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least
quarterly to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance.
This collaborative alliance has no financial requirements from either OSHA or Pueblo Community College to sustain its
effectiveness, but rather it will serve as a conduit for communications between the two entities that ultimately have the
mission of serving American employers and workers.
This agreement will remain in effect for one year from the date of signing and will automatically be renewed thereafter. This
agreement may be modified at any time with the concurrence of both signatories and terminated for any reason with thirty (30)
days written notice of either signatory.
