AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE
BETWEEN THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION, AMERICAN SOCIETY OF
SAFETY ENGINEERS PENSACOLA CHAPTER, INC., SACRED HEART HEALTH SYSTEMS,
INC., EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION BIG BEND CHAPTER,
NORTHWEST FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSES, INC.,
ASSOCIATION OF APPLIED AND THERAPEUTIC HUMOR, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH
FLORIDA CONSULTATION PROGRAM,

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA),
EAP Lifestyle Management, LLC., American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola
Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System, Inc., Employee Assistance
Professional Association Big Bend Chapter, Association for Applied and
Therapeutic Humor, University of South Florida Consultation Program and the
Northwest Florida Association Of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc., recognize the
value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more
healthful American workplaces. OSHA, EAP Lifestyle Management, LLC., American
Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System,
Inc., University of South Florida Consultation Program, Employee Assistance
Professional Association Big Bend Chapter, Association for Applied and
Therapeutic Humor, and the Northwest Florida Association Of Occupational Health
Nurses, Inc., hereby form an Alliance to provide workers from all industries
with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them
to protect employees' health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing
exposure to workplace violence issues. In developing this Alliance, OSHA, EAP
Lifestyle Management, LLC., American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola
Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System, Inc., University of South Florida
Consultation Program, Employee Assistance Professional Association Big Bend
Chapter, Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, and the Northwest
Florida Association Of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc., recognize that OSHA's
State Plan and the Onsite Consultation project partners are an integral part of
the OSHA national effort.
OSHA, the American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola Chapter, Inc., Sacred
Heart Health System, Inc., Employee Assistance Professional Association Big Bend
Chapter, Northwest Florida Association Of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc.,
Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, University of South Florida
Consultation Program, and EAP Lifestyle Management, LLC, will work together to
achieve the following training and education goals:
- Work with OSHA to provide expertise to develop training and education
programs for employers on workplace violence issues, and to provide expertise in
communicating such information to all employers and employees.
- Deliver and/or arrange for the delivery of training on workplace violence
prevention and follow-up.
OSHA, the American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola
Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System, Inc., Employee Assistance
Professional Association Big Bend Chapter, Northwest Florida Association Of
Occupational Health Nurses, Inc., Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor,
University of South Florida Consultation Program, and EAP Lifestyle Management,
LLC, will work together to achieve the following outreach and communication
goals:
- Work with OSHA to provide expertise in developing information and material
on the recognition and prevention of workplace violence, and to provide
expertise in developing ways of communicating such information (e.g., print and
electronic media, electronic assistance tools and OSHA's, the American Society
of Safety Engineers Pensacola Chapter's, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System's,
Inc., Employee Assistance Professional Association Big Bend Chapter's, Northwest
Florida Association Of Occupational Health Nurses', Inc., Association for
Applied and Therapeutic Humor's, University of South Florida Consultation
Program's, and EAP Lifestyle Management's, LLC, Web sites) to all employers and
employees.
- Speak, exhibit, or appear at participating organizations' conference
meetings or other events and hold a statewide workplace violence conference.
- Share information among OSHA personnel and industry safety and health
professionals regarding participants' best practices or effective approaches,
and publicize results through outreach by the participants and through OSHA, the
American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart
Health System, Inc., Employee Assistance Professional Association Big Bend
Chapter, Northwest Florida Association Of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc.,
Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, University of South Florida
Consultation Program, and EAP Lifestyle Management, LLC developed materials,
training programs, workshops, seminars, and lectures (or any other applicable
forum).
OSHA, the American Society of Safety Engineers Pensacola
Chapter, Inc., Sacred Heart Health System, Inc., Employee Assistance
Professional Association Big Bend Chapter, Northwest Florida Association Of
Occupational Health Nurses, Inc., Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor,
University of South Florida Consultation Program, and EAP Lifestyle Management,
LLC will work together to achieve the following goals related to promoting the
national dialogue on workplace violence:
- Convene or participate in forums, round table discussions, or stakeholder
meetings on workplace violence problems to help forge innovative solutions.
An implementation team consisting of representatives of all organizations
will meet to develop a plan of action, determine working procedures, and
identify the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they
will meet at least three times annually to track and share information on
activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance.
This agreement will remain in effect for two years from the date of signing and
will be automatically renewed annually. This agreement may be modified at any
time with the concurrence of all signatories, and may be terminated for any
reason within 30 days by a participant providing written notice to all other
signatories and their organizations that are represented by any signatory.
