Overview: Alliance focused on establishing a collaborative relationship
between OSHA and the Pearl River Community College (PRCC), which will reduce and
prevent youth worker’s exposure to hazards in the construction and electric
power transmission and distribution industries.

Representatives from OSHA and PRCC
Contributors: Same as above.
Evaluation Period: January 14, 2008, through March 20, 2009

Representatives from OSHA and PRCC conducted effective meetings on –
March 17, 2008; June 20, 2008; October 17, 2008; December 5, 2008; February 26,
2008
Training and Education
Events
- On March 14, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students
during the Lineman Presentation
- On June 30, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students
during the New Student Orientation
- On August 28, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students
during the Lineman Presentation
- During this review period 66 students received safety and health training
through the Utility Lineman Technology Program

- On October 17, 2008, the Alliance group supported the Pearl River
Community College Media Day and promoted the agreement with the school

- The Alliance group is interested in sponsoring a Lineman Rodeo

- Land has been donated to expand the training program to Hattiesburg, MS.
The site is currently being cleared and set-up for the Utility Lineman
Technology Program. The Alliance group is planning to support the classes at
Hattiesburg location
