    Overview: Alliance focused on establishing a collaborative relationship between OSHA and the Pearl River Community College (PRCC), which will reduce and prevent youth worker’s exposure to hazards in the construction and electric power transmission and distribution industries.

    March 17, 2008; June 20, 2008; October 17, 2008; December 5, 2008; February 26, 2008

    Training and Education

    Events

    • On March 14, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students during the Lineman Presentation

    • On June 30, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students during the New Student Orientation

    • On August 28, 2008, safety and health training was provided to students during the Lineman Presentation

    • During this review period 66 students received safety and health training through the Utility Lineman Technology Program

    • On October 17, 2008, the Alliance group supported the Pearl River Community College Media Day and promoted the agreement with the school

  4. Upcoming Milestones in FY 2010

    • Participation in the 2010 Arboriculture Seminar
    • The Alliance group is interested in sponsoring a Lineman Rodeo
    • Hire an additional instructor
    • Land has been donated to expand the training program to Hattiesburg, MS. The site is currently being cleared and set-up for the Utility Lineman Technology Program. The Alliance group is planning to support the classes at Hattiesburg location
