RENEWAL AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION ANCHORAGE AREA OFFICE AND STATE OF ALASKA, OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH AND ALYESKA PIPELINE SERVICE COMPANY – SHIP ESCORT RESPONSE VESSEL SYSTEM The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the State of Alaska, Occupational Safety and Health (AKOSH), and Alyeska Pipeline Service Company – Ship Escort Response Vessel System (APSC-SERVS) hereby renew the Alliance signed on September 24, 2003 and previously renewed on October 14, 2005. OSHA, AKOSH, and APSC-SERVS continue to recognize the value of a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces. All groups are committed to sharing their collective expertise to help advance a culture of prevention while sharing best practices and technical knowledge in the areas of emergency response, especially as it pertains to oil spill response. OSHA’s Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary cooperative relationship with OSHA for purposes such as training and education, outreach and communication and promoting a dialogue on workplace safety and health. These Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both OSHA and its Alliance participants. By entering into an Alliance with a party, OSHA is not endorsing any of that party’s products or services; nor does the Agency enter into an Alliance with the purpose of promoting a particular party’s products or services. An implementation team made up of representatives of all organizations will continue to meet to take further action in determining working procedures, and identifying the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least three times per year to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. Team members will include representatives of OSHA’s Anchorage Area Office, AKOSH office, and APSC-SERVS. This agreement will remain in effect for two years from the date of signing and will automatically be renewed annually thereafter. This agreement may be modified at any time with the concurrence of the signatories and may be terminated for any reason with 30 days written notice from any of the signatories.
