Several organizations in Rhode Island are involved in occupational safety and health. These organizations believe that they can better meet customer needs and improve occupational safety and health by forming an alliance, the RIght Safe Coalition. The RIght Safe Coalition exists to encourage and facilitate the efforts of Rhode Island employers and employees to save lives, prevent injuries, and protect health in the workplace. Member organizations include: Associations: Rhode Island Association of Occupational Health Nurses Safety Association of Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Association of Rhode Island Employers Non-Profit Organizations: Rhode Island Committee on Occupational Safety and Health The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company The Occupational & Environmental Health Center of Rhode Island Worksite Wellness Council of Rhode Island Academia Institute for Labor Studies and Research Roger Williams University, Program in Occupational Safety and Health Government: Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Workers’ Compensation Education Unit Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Division of Occupational Safety, Safety Compliance Unit Rhode Island Department of Health, Office of Occupational and Radiological Health (OSHA 21(d) Consultation Program) United States Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration The members of the coalition agree to use their collective expertise to help foster a culture of prevention by:
