    The advent of passenger airlines in the late 40’s brought new challenges in not only in how to meet the increasing demands of a people who wanted to be somewhere else in a hurry, but how to get their luggage and their belongings there with them.
    Airlines looked to the other most commonly used forms of transportation, railroads and ocean liners, for techniques in baggage and cargo handling.
