Precision and Accuracy

Precision and accuracy values also appeared to vary widely. This is most likely due to a nonstandardized approach of calculating and reporting. Values are only for XRD or IR as none of the countries surveyed admitted to using colorimetric or microscopy . It is generally recognized in USA that either IR or XRD method is capable of less than 10% coefficient of variation (CV) and an overall error (OE) of about ±25%. The OE also includes method bias in addition to imprecision such that OE=2CV+|bias|x100%.
