Of the primary and secondary methods, participants were asked to select from a list including: gravimetric, chemical colorimetric, chemical Atomic absorption (AA), optical microscopy, IR, XRD, thermal analysis, or other. Thermal analysis, not previously mentioned, is a techinique more amenable to analyzing quartz in commercial products (bulk materials).
