To determine acceptance or differences on an international scale we issued an
informal survey to colleagues practicing chemistry in the following countries:
Australia, Euopean Union*, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, United
Kingdom, and others in the United States. *The European Union, also known as the
CEN = European Committee for Standardization (analogous to ASTM), encompasses
the following european countries Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,
Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Protugal,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Although these countries are
members, NOT ALL USE XRD. They do not necessarily strictly adhere to the
standards established by the CEN and may have their own methodology.
