OSHA Offices

The Office of Occupational Health Nursing (OOHN) is OSHA's principal source of occupational health nursing expertise. The office is staffed with licensed, board certified Occupational Health Nurses (OHNs) who hold advanced degrees ranging from masters level to doctorate level. These nurses and other staff provide technical assistance in support of all OSHA activities, including outreach, partnerships, education, and enforcement. The Office of Occupational Medicine (OOM) is staffed by board-certified occupational medicine physicians as well as other physicians with occupational medicine experience. Office staff may include a registered nurse who coordinates the Compliance Officer Medical Examination program and a Health Scientist who prepares and coordinates Medical Access Orders and handles other OOM efforts. A PhD toxicologist enhances the OOM capabilities. One can find industrial hygienists and safety professionals, in any OSHA office, across the United States.
