Potential Hazards:
Injuries to workers may worsen due to inadequate or delayed access to
medical treatment.
Requirements and Example Solutions:
- If a first aid room and a qualified attendant are not close at hand,
an adequate first aid kit and a qualified person to administer first
aid must be available on the vessel. [1915.98(a) and
(b)]
- A stokes basket or equivalent must be available when there are
ten (10) or more employees working. [1915.98(d)]
