Hazards/Solutions:

Contact with the moving blade or machinery may occur.

The end saws on the trimmer must be guarded. 1910.265(e)(4)(ii)(b) The rear of the trimmer saws must have a guard the full width of the saws and as much wider as practical. 1910.265(e)(4)(ii)(c) Provide automatic trimmer saws with safety stops or hangers to prevent saws from dropping on the table. 1910.265(e)(4)(iii)

Logs may kick back and strike the operator.

Do not run trimmer saws at peripheral speeds in excess of those recommended by the manufacturer. 1910.265(e)(4)(i)

Workers at trim saw feed table

Flying particles or loose materials may strike workers.

Trimmer saws must be securely bolted to a frame and guarded in front with adequate baffles to protect against flying debris. Set these guards as close to the top of the trimmer table as is practical. 1910.265(e)(4)(ii)(a)
