Hard Hat
Hard hats must be worn when overhead hazards are present. [29 CFR 1910.266(d)(1)(vi)] The hard hats must comply with ANSI standards [29 CFR 1910.135(b)] (Subpart I, ANSI Z89.1-1986, if purchased after July 5, 1994, or ANSI Z89.1-1969 if purchased before July 5, 1994). Check for an ANSI label inside the hat.
