Logistics


Ground Support Unit Leader - General
The Ground Support Unit Leader - is primarily responsible for:
  • Support out-of-service resources.

  • Transportation of personnel, supplies, food, and equipment.

  • Fueling, service, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and other ground support equipment and

  • Implementing the Traffic Plan for the incident.


Ground Support Unit Leader - Specific Responsibilities
The major responsibilities of the Ground Support Unit Leader are:
  • Review Common Responsibilities.

  • Review Unit Leader Responsibilities.

  • Participate in Support Branch/Logistics Section planning activities.

  • Develop and implement the Traffic Plan.

  • Support out-of-service resources.

  • Notify the Resources Unit of all status changes on support and transportation vehicles.

  • Arrange for and activate fueling, maintenance, and repair of ground resources.

  • Maintain Support Vehicle Inventory and transportation vehicles (ICS Form 218, 4 KB PDF).

  • Provide transportation services, IAW requests from the Logistics Section Chief (LSC) or Support Branch Director.

  • Collect use information on rented equipment.

  • Requisition maintenance and repair supplies (e.g., fuel, spare parts).

  • Maintain incident roads.

  • Submit reports to Support Branch Director as directed.

  • Maintain Unit/Activity Log (ICS Form 214, 5 KB PDF).
